Skills Studio Workshops:
Online, Interactive Communication

Skills grow best when they are used, reflected on, and applied in real-life communication. Our workshops are designed to help you do exactly that. From time to time, we offer small group online workshops for adults who want to strengthen their communication skills in a supportive and interactive setting.

Each workshop includes expert guidance from one of our Registered Speech-Language Pathologists, real-time feedback, and hands-on practice opportunities. Our Skills Studio Workshops are open to Ontario adult residents.

Since our clinicians are Registered Speech-Language Pathologists, workshop services are eligible for coverage with most private and third-party insurance providers under speech therapy or paramedical services.

Popular Skills Studio Workshops have included:

  • Confident Communication – Focused on clear, persuasive communication

  • Gender Affirming Resonance Room – Devoted to exploring gender affirming resonance

  • Sound Garden – Growing your vocal presence and impact for professional situations

  • Delve into the Diaphragm - Learn about diaphragmatic breathing, and application to speech scenarios

Perfect When You're Short on Time

Busy schedule? No problem. Each Skills Studio Workshop is a focused, stand-alone learning experience. In just a couple of hours, you can build practical skills without committing to a long program or weekly sessions.

Small Groups for Big Impact

Our workshops are intentionally small so you can receive personalized attention, ask questions, and participate at a level that feels right for you.

Hands-On, Interactive, Adult-Centred Learning

This isn’t a lecture. Our workshops are built around practice, experimentation, real-time coaching and feedback, and skill transfer.

Eligible Under Most Extended Health Benefits

Since our workshops include assessment elements, therapeutic interaction, feedback, and are facilitated by a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist, many extended health plans reimburse under speech therapy or paramedical services. (Always check your individual plan to confirm coverage.)

Frequently Asked Questions About Skills Series Workshops

Is participation required? Attendance is required, but how you participate is up to you. You’re encouraged to take part in a way that feels comfortable for you. ⸻ What do I need in order to participate? You must be an Ontario resident. You’ll need access to a device with a camera and microphone, such as a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. You must also complete the registration process, which includes consent and intake forms, prescreen materials, and payment submission. ⸻ Will recordings of the meetings be provided? No. To protect the privacy of all group members, recordings of any kind are not permitted. ⸻ Can I use an alias during group meetings? Yes. Participants are welcome to use an alias during meetings as long as their full legal and preferred names are provided privately on the registration and consent forms. ⸻ What type of materials will be provided? We find adults learn best through practice, not paperwork. Because our workshops emphasize hands-on learning and participation, you may not receive formal slides or lecture-style presentations, but you will receive reference materials for activities and home practice exercises to help you apply what you've learned. ⸻ What if I can’t attend a meeting? Live attendance is required for all meetings. We’re unable to provide refunds or reimbursements for missed sessions. We don't provide recordings. ⸻ Will insurance cover this? Since our workshops are facilitated by Registered Speech-Language Pathologists, Ontario residents can submit their invoices to their insurance provider under speech therapy or paramedical services. We recommend confirming details directly with your provider, as coverage varies. We do not offer direct billing, and OHIP does not cover Speech-Language Pathology services.
